Healing is not about becoming someone else. It is about integrating the experiences that have shaped you so you can become more authentically who you were created to be.
Trauma Processing & Recovery
Trauma recovery is a deeply personal journey—not a destination that looks the same for everyone. While healing may not always mean the complete absence of trauma-related symptoms, it does mean reclaiming the ability to live fully in the present without being continually overwhelmed by the thoughts, emotions, or physiological responses rooted in the past. Recovery is about moving from surviving to living with greater freedom, resilience, and authenticity.
At the heart of trauma is the experience of powerlessness, disconnection, and the loss of safety. Because of this, the foundation of effective trauma recovery is restoring a sense of safety, rebuilding personal agency, and helping individuals reconnect with their capacity to make choices, trust themselves, and engage with life again.
Every person's healing process is unique. For some, speaking about traumatic experiences and processing memories in depth is an important part of recovery. For others, repeatedly revisiting the details may not be beneficial. Effective trauma therapy honors the individual, meeting each person where they are and utilizing approaches that support healing without overwhelming the nervous system.
Rather than viewing recovery as a single event, trauma healing is best understood as a gradual, intentional process. The first and most essential step is creating physical, emotional, and relational safety. From there, healing unfolds in stages as the nervous system becomes more regulated, resilience grows, and individuals begin integrating their experiences into a life no longer defined by trauma.
This phased understanding of trauma recovery was first described by Dr. Pierre Janet in the late nineteenth century and later brought into mainstream trauma treatment through Dr. Judith Herman's landmark work, Trauma and Recovery (1992). Today, this stage-based approach continues to guide much of modern trauma-informed care.
Anxiety Treatment
Anxiety is more than excessive worry—it is often a nervous system that has learned to stay on high alert. Whether it shows up as racing thoughts, panic attacks, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or difficulty relaxing, anxiety is your mind and body trying to protect you. Together, we'll identify the underlying patterns that keep anxiety in place and develop practical tools to help your nervous system experience safety again.
Using evidence-based approaches, we'll work to reduce anxiety at its source—not simply manage the symptoms. My goal is to help you develop greater emotional resilience, mental clarity, and the confidence to engage fully in your life rather than being controlled by fear.
Depression Treatment
Depression often extends far beyond sadness. It can leave you feeling emotionally numb, disconnected, exhausted, hopeless, or unlike yourself. It may affect your relationships, your work, your motivation, and your ability to experience joy. You don't have to navigate that burden alone.
Our work together focuses on understanding the unique factors contributing to your depression while helping you reconnect with purpose, hope, and the parts of yourself that have become overshadowed by pain. Through compassionate, evidence-based treatment, we'll address unhelpful thought patterns, regulate the nervous system, strengthen healthy coping skills, and create meaningful, sustainable change. Healing isn't about becoming someone different—it's about integrating your experiences and moving toward the most authentic, resilient version of yourself.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
Healthy relationships are built on emotional safety, trust, communication, and mutual understanding. When conflict becomes repetitive, communication breaks down, or emotional distance grows, it can leave both partners feeling lonely, misunderstood, and uncertain about the future of the relationship. Relationship therapy provides a space to slow these patterns down, understand what is happening beneath the surface, and begin creating healthier ways of connecting.
My approach is trauma-informed and focuses on helping couples recognize the protective cycles that keep them stuck. Together, we'll strengthen communication, rebuild trust, increase emotional intimacy, and develop the skills needed to navigate conflict with greater understanding and respect. Whether you're working through the effects of trauma, betrayal, life transitions, attachment wounds, or simply wanting a stronger relationship, our work will focus on creating a partnership where both individuals feel seen, valued, and emotionally secure.
Grief & Loss
Grief is the natural response to losing someone or something that mattered. While we often associate grief with death, it can also follow divorce, chronic illness, trauma, career changes, lost dreams, shifting relationships, or life transitions. Grief asks us to reconcile a life we expected with the reality we now face.
Healing doesn't mean forgetting or "moving on." It means learning to carry loss in a way that no longer prevents you from fully engaging in life. Together, we'll create space to process your pain, honor what has been lost, and help you move forward with hope while carrying your loved one or life experience in a meaningful way.
Life Transitions
Life is full of seasons that challenge our identity, relationships, and sense of direction. Whether you're navigating career changes, marriage, divorce, parenthood, an empty nest, chronic illness, retirement, or simply feeling uncertain about your next chapter, transition can leave you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself.
Therapy provides a place to slow down, gain clarity, and intentionally move through change rather than simply reacting to it. Together, we'll strengthen your resilience, reconnect you with your values and purpose, and help you navigate life's transitions with greater confidence, peace, and authenticity.
Faith Reconstruction
For many people, faith is one of the greatest sources of strength, meaning, and hope. It can also raise difficult questions during seasons of suffering, trauma, loss, or uncertainty. When desired, I thoughtfully integrate your faith into the therapeutic process, recognizing that emotional healing and spiritual growth often complement one another.
Faith integration is always client-directed and honors your personal beliefs and values. Whether you're seeking healing from trauma, navigating life's challenges, strengthening your relationships, or healing or deepening your relationship with God, therapy can provide a space where evidence-based clinical care and faith work together to support lasting healing and personal growth.
Chronic Illness
Living with a chronic illness affects far more than your physical health. It can impact your identity, relationships, career, confidence, and emotional well-being. The uncertainty of symptoms, ongoing medical appointments, changing abilities, and the feeling that others don't fully understand your experience can leave you feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted.
Therapy provides a space to process the mental and emotional impact of chronic illness while building resilience and helping your nervous system adapt to life's ongoing challenges. Together, we'll address anxiety, grief, stress, and the identity shifts that often accompany chronic health conditions. My goal is to help you move beyond simply surviving your diagnosis and toward living a meaningful, fulfilling life—one that is not defined by illness, but informed by the strength you've developed through it.
Identity
Life experiences—whether trauma, loss, relationships, career changes, or chronic stress—can leave you questioning who you are and where you fit. You may feel disconnected from yourself, uncertain about your direction, or like you've lost the person you once knew. Therapy provides an opportunity to rediscover the values, strengths, and qualities that make you uniquely you.
Together, we'll explore the experiences that have shaped your identity, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and cultivate a stronger sense of confidence, purpose, and authenticity. My goal is to help you become more fully aligned with the person you are today—not despite your experiences, but through the wisdom and resilience they've helped you develop.
Purpose & Meaning
Purpose gives us direction, while meaning gives us the ability to endure life's challenges with hope and resilience. Seasons of loss, transition, trauma, or uncertainty can leave you questioning not only where you're going, but why any of it matters. Therapy offers a space to reconnect with what gives your life significance and to build a future that reflects your deepest values.
Together, we'll explore what matters most to you, clarify your values, and create a path forward that aligns with the life you want to live. My goal is to help you cultivate a life of intention—one marked by purpose, meaning, resilience, and a deep sense of fulfillment, even in the face of life's greatest challenges.
Veterans & First Responders
Veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, healthcare professionals, and other emergency service personnel routinely carry burdens that most people never see. Repeated exposure to trauma, critical incidents, loss, and chronic stress can affect the nervous system, relationships, sleep, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life. While these experiences often become part of the job, they don't have to become your identity.
I specialize in helping veterans and first responders process traumatic experiences, reduce the emotional and physiological impact of trauma, and restore a greater sense of balance and resilience. Using evidence-based approaches—including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), somatic interventions, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation—we work to help your brain and body process what happened without requiring you to relive every detail. My goal is to help you move beyond survival, reconnect with the people and purpose that matter most, and reclaim the freedom to fully engage in your life.
Healthy Masculine & Feminine Development
Healthy masculinity and femininity are not about stereotypes—they are about becoming the fullest, healthiest expression of who you were created to be. Many of the challenges people face in relationships, leadership, parenting, and personal well-being stem from wounds that distort confidence, identity, connection, and the way we show up in the world.
My approach helps individuals explore the qualities that foster emotional maturity, resilience, integrity, healthy boundaries, courage, compassion, and authentic connection. Together, we'll identify the patterns that no longer serve you, heal the experiences that shaped them, and cultivate a stronger sense of identity rooted in purpose, character, and healthy relationships. The goal is not to become someone else, but to develop into a more authentic, emotionally grounded version of yourself.
Group Therapy
Healing doesn't have to happen alone. Group therapy offers a supportive environment where individuals can learn, grow, and heal alongside others who understand many of the same challenges. While each person's story is unique, there is often tremendous strength, hope, and encouragement found in realizing you are not alone.
My groups are designed to provide education, practical skills, meaningful discussion, and opportunities for personal growth in a safe, respectful, and confidential setting. Topics may include trauma recovery, healthy relationships, nervous system regulation, faith integration, personal development, and other areas that foster lasting emotional and relational well-being. Whether you're looking to build resilience, deepen your understanding of yourself, or connect with others on a similar journey, group work can be a powerful part of the healing process.
Stress, Burnout & Nervous System Regulation
When life demands more than your mind and body can sustain, stress can become chronic, leaving you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, emotionally reactive, or disconnected from yourself. Burnout often affects every area of life—including your relationships, work, physical health, and sense of purpose. You may find yourself constantly "on," unable to rest, or feeling like you've lost the capacity to enjoy the things that once brought you joy.
Together, we'll identify the sources of chronic stress, restore nervous system balance, and develop practical strategies to increase resilience and emotional well-being. Through evidence-based approaches, mindfulness, somatic interventions, and nervous system regulation, my goal is to help you move from merely surviving to living with greater peace, clarity, and capacity.
